Lead Mover/Driver

JRCC Furniture Depot is giving furniture for free to people in need. We are looking for a responsible and experienced mover to lead the truck crew and provide clients the furniture, as well as collect furniture donations across the GTA.

Salary is $21-$24/hr, full-time work, 2 weeks vacation.

The work includes driving and furniture moving. You must have:

* A valid G driving license, clean abstract
* Experience driving a truck
* Experience in furniture moving
* Can legally work in Canada
* Positive attitude and A+ customer service

Summer Jobs Students

JRCC Cares is the arm of the Jewish Russian Community Centre that provides social services to those in need. Through a variety of different programs, including furniture donations, food bank services, and senior assistance, we support members of our community in establishing safe and healthy homes. We are looking for smart and responsible students to join our team in the summer. Main duties:

  • Assist in donor outreach (calls, emails, flyers)

Donor & Office Administrator

Office/warehouse Location: 1416 Centre St., Thornhill L4J 8A1

Job Type: M-F 9:00 am-2:00 pm (work from the office every day)

Organization: JRCC Cares (Furniture Depot, Kosher Food Bank)

Pay: $23-$27/hr

Report to: JRCC Cares Director

Immediate start!

The JRCC Cares is growing and looking for an energetic and organized individual to manage day-to-day operations of reception, office, warehouse, food bank, and furniture donations. The work includes front line work at the reception desk, full responsibility for donors’ administration (phone calls, emails, etc.), coordination of delivery and pick-up, facility management, and assistance in other administrative tasks.

The role requires a strong sense of organization, punctuality, time management, and sales acumen. It requires physical presence at the facility and availability to be onsite at all hours of operations.

Responsibilities:

Warehouse operations

  • Facility: ensure warehouse and facility are open, clean, and functioning
  • Food Bank: ensure food donations are accepted, sorted, packed, and delivered
  • Furniture Bank: ensure furniture donations are accepted, sorted and cleaned, uploaded to website, and rearranged for client delivery, coordinate and monitor truck time

Donor administration

  • Coordinate furniture donations (answer calls/emails, reply to calls/emails)
  • Communicate with donors and coordinate payments and tax receipts
  • Charge credit cards, debit, cash, and manage payment reports
  • Schedule pick-up and delivery time, and coordinate with donors/clients
  • Maintain and mange truck schedule timing and capacity, supervise truck team

Reception and office administration

  • Direct and monitor entrances to the warehouse for pre-approved personnel (and clients/donors if needed), assist them at the warehouse
  • Maintain a complete and organized worklog for donor communication, enter data, maintain records, verify data on the database, and produce reports
  • Perform various administrative tasks (file records, produce Word and Excel documents, send and reply to emails, answer phone calls and transfer calls, scan documents, update database, etc.)
  • Financial records: maintain accurate and timely records for payments
  • Coordinate and purchase office and warehouse supply
  • Produce management report for operations, donations, clients, etc.

Additional tasks

  • Assist in outreach calls for furniture donors (stores, retirement homes, etc.) and food donations (stores, restaurants, etc.)
  • Assist in fundraising efforts (print letters, maintain records on the database, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Fluent high-level English – writing, speaking, reading– a must
  • Russian speaking – a very strong asset
  • Hebrew speaking – a very strong asset
  • 3-5 years of experience in office/warehouse management/coordination – a must
  • 3-5 years of experience in client service or sales – a very strong asset
  • Excellent ability for independent work, time management, and initiative
  • Excellent organization, punctuality, attention to details, and patience
  • Excellent computer orientation and knowledge: Outlook, Word, Excel, and databases (i.e. Sales Force) – a must

Community Relations Coordinator (Closed)

Part time 12-15 hrs/wk.

The JRCC Furniture Depot is looking for an energetic and organized candidate to coordinate community relations. The work includes coordination of communication with partner agencies, monthly surveys for donors and clients, data analyses for a variety of needs, grant application writing and follow up, and outreach calls / emails. The role requires a strong sense of organization, punctuality, time management, and sales acumen. This position reports to the program director.

Responsibilities:

* assist in fundraising & grant writing
* assist in program evaluation
* assist in marketing and furniture donor outreach
* call clients/donors for survey
* enter data to Excel, Sales Force

Requirements:
* bachelor’s degree (preferably in the social sciences) – a must
* previous experience (school or work) in qual/quan methods – a must
* computer orientation (Outlook, Office) – a must
* fluent English – a must (writing, speaking, reading)
* excellent ability to work independently with minimum supervision
* must have flexible schedule to work three times per week on varying hours (i.e. work hours between 12:00 pm- 5:00 pm)

Warehouse Worker (Closed)

Duties:

Client Service Administrator (Closed)

Hours of work: Part time: Mon-Fri 9:00am-1:00pm (potential for full time in the future)

The JRCC FD is looking for a passionate individual to join our growing team, and assist in customer service and administration.

Job Description:
The client admin coordinates client service in all aspects, including: directing and assisting clients through the warehouse, finalizing paperwork for clients, and communicating with referral agencies. This position reports to the Program Director.

Duties:
* Serve clients by greeting, welcoming, and directing  them appropriately
* Answer clients calls and emails, and address them appropriately
* Assist clients in choosing furniture and navigating the warehouse
* Calculate delivery fees, charge credit cards, cash, etc.; and schedule time for furniture delivery
* Enter client data and record daily transactions in Excel, Sales Force and similar databases
* Assist in customer satisfaction calls and emails
* Assist in outreach calls and emails

 Experience and skills:
* Computer orientation (Outlook, Office) – a must
* Fluent English (writing, speaking, reading) – a must
* Positive attitude and A+ customer service – a must
* Previous experience in costumer service, preferably front line work – an asset
* Bachelor’s degree in social science or related disciple – an asset
* Previous experience in program evaluation, market research, grant writing, fundraising, social media – an asset
* Excellent ability to work independently with minimum supervision
* Passion to initiate, think “outside the box”, and suggest service improvements
* Can legally work in Canada
