{"id":329,"date":"2016-01-08T15:29:22","date_gmt":"2016-01-08T20:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jrccfurnituredepot.org\/?p=329"},"modified":"2016-01-08T15:30:33","modified_gmt":"2016-01-08T20:30:33","slug":"jrcc-furniture-depot-helping-syrian-refugees-start-new-life-in-toronto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jrccfurnituredepot.org\/he\/blog\/jrcc-furniture-depot-helping-syrian-refugees-start-new-life-in-toronto\/","title":{"rendered":"JRCC Furniture Depot Helping Syrian Refugees Start New Life in Toronto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TORONTO \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The Syrian refugee crisis has captivated the conscience of Canadians from coast-to-coast.\u00a0Many\u00a0communities have stepped up to help those arriving from their war-torn homeland.\u00a0The\u00a0Jewish Russian Community Centre (JRCC) Furniture Depot, in collaboration with the Armenian community, will be providing recently arrived refugees with furniture, and other household items to help them settle into a new home on\u00a0January 11.<\/p>\n<p>The kick off the campaign to help these\u00a0refugees will be launched on Jan 11 by inviting five families (2 from York Region &amp;\u00a03 from Toronto) to come to the Furniture Depot and select furniture on Monday from 10:30 to\u00a011:30\u00a0a.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy helping refugees settle into a new home today, we\u2019re building the foundation for success of new Canadians\u00a0tomorrow,\u201d stated Roi Aftabi, Director of Development at the JRCC Furniture Depot.<\/p>\n<p>We would like extend our gratitude to the Hon.
